THE OUTLOOK IS INTERESTING

Cloudy
with a Chance of
John.

Cloudy? With a chance of John? Magic, stories, mayhem. John Eicke holding a microphone. Have the courage to be a little bit cloudy?

A little humor. A little wonder.
Something to think about together.

Let’s see where this goes
YOUR HOST · JOHN EICKECertainty may vary.

PULL UP A CHAIR

It starts with
“Something occurred to me…”

Then a question turns sideways. Something funny becomes something worth thinking about. A little magic might find its way in.

This is a place for those moments. Thoughts, stories and conversations with John Eicke—about the things we notice, the things we assume, and the interesting space in between.

You don’t have to agree. You’re invited to join in.

A FEW THINGS TO TURN OVER

Start anywhere.

The wrong seat.

I’ve been thinking about a show where every spectator is sitting in the wrong place. Which sounds like a very convenient excuse for a magician.

Stay with me

The person on your left sees something you can’t. The person on your right misses something obvious to you.

You all watched the same thing. You just didn’t receive the same information.

Now I’m wondering how often I’ve called somebody wrong when they were simply sitting somewhere else.

When has changing your position changed your mind?

Keep the ball in play.

You really can’t control a pinball. You can hit it. Redirect it. Learn the table. Then it hits one little thing and goes somewhere you hadn’t considered.

And then what?

Which is rude.

I keep catching myself waiting until I know how something is going to turn out before I start.

That is a spectacular way to never play pinball.

Maybe today’s job is just to keep the ball in play long enough for something interesting to happen.

What have you kept going without knowing where it would lead?

SAME CURIOSITY. IN THE ROOM.

Give me a focused space.
Let’s see what happens.
